| I'm known as L-ROX, I'm a freelance Mixing/Mastering engineer out of Los Angeles and run a biz named "Redsecta". I started making beats around '91, but around '97, found that I was mixing more than actually making beats. In 2003, I officially retired from the game of making beats and dedicated myself to mixing and mastering projects for other independent artists as well as labels, and feel that's what sets me apart from other engineers who may only know rap projects from what they hear on the radio. Here's a list of what I currently work with: Pro Tools 7 with a Digi002r (using the interface to get into PT, the real conversion happens with...) UA 2192 Master Interface Lynx AES 16 Cranesong Avocet Manley Vari-Mu Mackie HR824s (which i love to mix on, but to master, gotta go a little more "audiophile" and I like...) Polk Audio LSi-15 (Lamm amps)

Peace L-ROX. I am Sean Maru. I have been making beats since the early 90s. Gear lists through the years usually involved Ensoniq Workstations (EPS Classic and ASR-10) and lots of sample sources. Nowadays I use a mix of hardware and software to make my music (see below). PC Based DAW with LOGIC Platinum, Soundforge, Intakt, Battery, etc. Emu Ultra 6400 sampler Mackie 1642 Mixing Board Technics 1200 turntable. AKG and Shure Mics Acoustic and Electric guitars Lots of battered vinyl, a video library full of random movies and a cassette tape collection going back to 1983. I fell in love with intakt just in time for NI to kill it. Have a piece of software you want to become obsolete? Let me start to enjoy it and it is history. Have I mentioned that I sequence using Logic 4.8 platinum? Nuff said. My relationship with hardware like with many things is a no win situation. Hence the name Maru. Trek nerds will get the reference. Sean Maru AIM:seanmaru maru859@gmail.com www.seanmaru.comhttp://www.myspace.com/seanmaru

| Greetings to all I go by the name P.R.O. I started making beats about two years ago. First I got into Fruity Loops and a PC with a 61 key midi controller. Then I began to use Reason's 2, 2.5, & 3. Now, I'm in the process of using the Juno G, building a bigger sound library and learning new software programs (Audition, cubase, and a wider variety of VST's.) After I become more comfortable, the next step will be to slowly add on and implement hardware units. I also write and perform rhymes and look forward to upcoming projects. http://www.myspace.com/proliphicrhymesoutloud

Currently working with...
FL Studio

Shure mics
Tascam 428 control unit
Technics tables
Pioneer 600 dj mixer
I need to step my hardware game up, but i'm comfortable for now.

| Nice to see you Brock. Did you have any luck with that rendering problem. Pheonix Xodus is pretty on point with the trouble shooting, maybe post that question (if you havent already) and maybe we can figure it out...so far no light bulbs from me... Also, congrats on that write up in the KY kernal. sean

| glad to be a part of the site, nice to meet you all i read all your guy's intro's. I'm digi D im a semi-established producer, a small town dude from rhode island always had a interest in music and an ear for it. I'm working with slaine from La coka Nostra, Prospect from terror squad, Killah priest, Vinne Paz of jedi mind tricks,Boot camp clik and maybe j-kwon im not really into the main stream gig's. I like most of the equipment you fellow producers are bangin on. I use an Asr-X routed through an akai mpc 2000 i mix in pro-tools HD and use a bunch of other stuff i like to keep on the low. i mainly flip samples but i took piano lessons so i actually knew what the hell i was playing and not just banging random keys until i played something that sounds good" when im composing"... i recommend all producers do so its getting a true understanding of format and im pretty sure itll help you out a lot. i plan on building with this site so ill see you guys around!
