Whether you have a week or an hour to devote to a Holiday promotional campaign, CD Baby's Holiday Promo Guide is full of tips from artists who've had historical seasonal successes on how to seriously increase your holiday sales. Click HERE to download the Holiday Promo Guide for free.
For those artists who aren't looking to put a ton of effort into an all-out blitz, let me make two quick suggestions: - Make sure your links are active and inviting. Spruce up your website and social networking profiles. Make it easy for your fans to purchase your music and be sure to use our Linkmaker.
- Lower your album's price until Christmas and let all your fans know about this limited-time holiday sale.
If you're hungry for some more Holiday promotional wisdom, please check out CD Baby's DIY Musician Blog. The companion to our popular DIY Musician Podcast, this blog is updated weekly with interviews from top sellers, advice and anecdotes, and analysis of the latest trends in indie PR.
We always love to hear from our artists, so feel free to help broaden the discussion by leaving your comments, success stories, secret confessions, and questions on the blog. Throughout the season, we'll also be making frequent posts on the blog which are directly related to Holiday promotions.
And while we're on the topic, CD Baby recently added "Holiday" as its own MAIN genre. (Previously it had been listed as a mood.) If you have a holiday release, including your album in this category could provide your seasonal music with a bit more visibility this year. We recommend switching one of your two main genre selections to "Holiday" in order to get your album in front of folks who are specifically looking for seasonally-themed music. You can do this at any time from within the dashboard/member account area. Just click on the "Genres" link under the ALBUM DESCRIPTIVE INFO section.
We hope all of these things will help you earn some more sales this Holiday season. Now go spread the indie spirit and have excessive fun in safe quantities!
Happy Holidays,
