  • When you buy your ticket online you'll get a BAPC number to your email so you can use it to get in the conference.  If you don't received it please email us at bapc415@gmail.com

  • Early Bird Special going for $45 dollars online now!!!!!

  • High School and College students received a 25% discount in stores.  If you buy 3 tickets at the same time, you get 1 half off

  • Producers will be able to submit tracks to celebrity artists from the Bay Area and get feedback about your music by professionals

Most artists think they need a manager, but do you really? Do you know what managers actually do? And most importantly, can they really help you succeed? Those questions and many others will be answered by our panel of seasoned managers and artist representatives.

Trying to succeed as a music producer is difficult and challenging. This panel will provide you with an overview of the legal and business aspects of producing music for others; building a successful track record; and getting placement with major acts. If you are an up-and-coming producer you do NOT want to miss this panel.

5:00PM               6th Panel            The Truth About A&R
Does A&R still exist? What does today's A&R professional do for music artists? How can an A&R rep help an independent artist? What are the best ways of reaching A&R reps? Are there companies that offer legitimate A&R services? These questions and many others will be answered during this panel.

The Cathedral Hill Hotel in San Francisco is the official host hotel for BAPC 2009 1st annual conference.

The Cathedral Hill Hotel is not only a historic San Francisco hotel, it is also a hotel that has something for both the leisure and the business traveler an on-site indoor garage, a California-inspired restaurant, heated pool, business center and fitness room.

In the hotel's Jack Tar restaurant, the executive chef and renowned beer chef Bruce Paton has specially designed a dinner menu that pairs fine wine and beer with California cuisine.

iStandard Producer Showcase @ BAPC Submission Guidelines
  • Only ONE submission per registrant will be necessary
  • In order to submit you must register for the BAPC and have a valid ticket or registration code
  • When submitting you will attach 2 Beats or Beats w/Hooks in MP3 form
    (Please note upon submission, BAPC, & iStandard Producers are not liable for the music sent via email)
  • Deadline to submit for iStandard/ BAPC Showcase is NOW July 17th 2009
  • 8 Producers will be selected and will be notified via email by July 20th 2009
  • A Follow up phone call from a member of the iStandard Staff will be made to each competing producer to review specifics and answer questions and concerns
  • Once you have registered, Click HERE to submit for the 1st Annual iStandard / BAPC Producer Showcase (select "bay area producers conference" in the city tab)
  • The judge panel (TBA) will provide feedback for all 8 producers in the showcase
    and select the iStandard/ BAPC winner, who will receive a prize package from sponsors including:

    - IK Multimedia SampleTron & TRacks 3
    - Meeting with Raj Jadeja, A&R for Atlantic Records in LA
    - LIFETIME membership to iStandardProducers.com

PRODUCERS PLEASE NOTE:
Hooks can be on your beats, but ABSOLUTELY NO SINGING OR RAPPING ON THE VERSES.
You will be judged 1-10 on the following categories:

Originality (something new and fresh, doesn't sound like anything out there)
Marketability (can the song be on the radio or on an album? Can you hear someone spitting over it?)
Fidelity (sounds are crisp, separation in the mixes; low end is thumping, etc.)
Usage of Elements (any samples, live instruments, etc. are placed within the drum pattern efficiently)
Overall Potential (does this producer have what it takes to get to the next level?)
