Producer OVER The Edge: You have a few credits and contacts you lean on for your credibility and use that along with the number of years youve been at it as a bullying point against others. You cite every experience you've ever had as absolute proof you are right in every disagreement. And if you cant dig into the story box, you can always make up an anecdote that supports your claims. You're the guy who knows everyone, knows everything and does nothing. You think youre on the edge of a breakthrough, but the reality is- you've already fallen off before falling on. Its only after you've been left behind and your usual tricks of 'insult their status' wears off that youll finally realize you've been sitting in neutral for many years.

F) BRAND NEW ON THE BLOCK: You've discovered the fever for music production and you feel you represent the cutting edge. You've got all the latest cracked software and feel its okay to pirate software since its not really stealing- it's a copy and not the actual Box or CD. Anything goes when it comes to this- you'll download MP3s to sample, E-dig on websites and even sample melody elements from other records. You feel you don't need a whole lot of Old School knowledge since those elements are played out anyway and you dont need anyones guidance to make your heat. You find yourself always defending you philosophies against some washed-up old school never-was that's just jealous at the opportunities afforded your generation.

im not sure what it means by "brand new on the block", but im not a newb, if that's what it means lol. but i am young tho. and the middel to the end is completely wrong. ive been taught and guided by older heads since i started, and im very open-minded and i try to suck as much knowledge and wisdom from them as i possibly can. i find them extremely valuable, actually. as for the beginning...uhh... no comment lol.

...actually B is alot closer to the truth for me...confidence and focus are big areas I need to work on (in addition to learning how to make music of course...hahah)

Someone needs to light a fire under your ***. You need to get your confidence up and make some moves. Do something besides think about it.

I do think a lot of people lack in knowing the difference between a producer and a beatmaker/and or musician.
