BMI and the Writer's Block Party presented a "What's New Is Now" songwriter, artist and producer workshop on Tuesday, July 11 Hosting the workshop was Michael ‘Blue' Williams, CEO, Family Tree Entertainment, and Tony Perez, CEO, Relentless Entertainment. A limited amount of participants were chosen to perform or present new songs to the hosts and gain valuable feedback on their works. Michael "Blue" Williams, President & CEO of Family Tree Entertainment, is one of the catlysts of the Urban music market. He manages Grammy Award-winning group Outkast, Superstar Nick Cannon, Soulful Singer Macy Gray, Rapper Trina, R& B Singers Case, Lyfe Jennings, Jagged Edge, Blu Cantrell, K-Ci & Jo Jo of Jodeci, Faith Evans and Monica just to name a few. He began as a roadie for Multi-Platinum R & B Group Jodeci and went onto work with Superstar Queen Latifah as President of her Flavor Unit Management team before opening his own management company, Family Tree Entertainment in 1997.
